Structural Durability

The product's ability to withstand use and time without damage

The five levels

Each anchor describes what separates one level from the next — not a general description of quality. This is the text the evaluator itself reads.

  • Level 1 Below Standard

A fragile structure that fails at first use

Example A joint that comes apart or an edge that cracks quickly

  • Level 2 Approaching

An acceptable structure but with clear weak points

Example The product holds generally but one joint is fragile

  • Level 3 At Standard

A sturdy structure withstanding ordinary use

Example The product holds up to daily use

  • Level 4 Above Standard

A structure withstanding more than expected use

Example The product stays sturdy after years of use

  • Level 5 Exemplary

Exceptional durability where time adds beauty to the product

Example The product gains patina with age rather than losing it
