Color & Finish Harmony

Harmony of the product's colors and finish layers to serve its aesthetic unity

The five levels

Each anchor describes what separates one level from the next — not a general description of quality. This is the text the evaluator itself reads.

  • Level 1 Below Standard

Clashing colors and finishes that distract the eye

Example Excess gloss beside matte with no logic

  • Level 2 Approaching

Partial harmony with one element breaking the unity

Example Harmonious colors broken by a stray finish

  • Level 3 At Standard

Harmonious color and finish giving the product unity

Example The product looks harmonious in color and sheen

  • Level 4 Above Standard

Color and finish expressing the product's personality

Example A color choice distinguishing the product and known by it

  • Level 5 Exemplary

Exceptional harmony making color and finish part of the product's story

Example The finish tells of the materials' origin and the making's journey
