Consistency

Unifying visual elements throughout design to create cohesive identity

The five levels

Each anchor describes what separates one level from the next — not a general description of quality. This is the text the evaluator itself reads.

  • Level 1 Below Standard

Inconsistent elements, each part from different world

Example Different fonts on each page, colors that don't repeat

  • Level 2 Approaching

    Partial consistency with some deviations

Example One font but colors change randomly

  • Level 3 At Standard

Clear consistency giving design unified identity

Example Viewer notices these parts belong to same design

  • Level 4 Above Standard

Strong consistency with expressive flexibility within system

Example Variation within consistent system — disciplined freedom

  • Level 5 Exemplary

Complete design system recognized by any viewer immediately

Example One new design immediately recognized as from this identity
